Pros

• Afaik, am4 boards aren't as sensitive for quad-channels as am5, as long as they're the same brand and speed, you'll be fine.

Cons

• You get actively punished for trying to have more ram. It's fucking stupid. "Oh I need a lot of ram but don't want to lose my FUCKING LIVER so I'll use Quad Channel" and my fucking PC just goes and DIES

• You're asking the memory controller on the CPU to handle different speeds, timings, and voltages when it's operating at billions of transfers per second. It's not so easy to fix as you make it out to be.
