If yours isn't getting hot hot there's a very high chance all the pins on card are connecting well to your current cable. It's generally advised to disconnect and reconnect as few times as possible because some cables were very badly designed and the connectors in a few had been observed to move when connected and disconnected many times. In short, if it's not broken don't try to fix it.
