For the vermouth, Cocchi di Torino is a really great option. It's got more character/complexity than Dolin Rouge, Martini & Rossi, and most other widely available options.
Hard to beat Beefeater, Campari, and Cocchi di Torino.
I make it with Tanqueray and cocchi di Torino.
Cocchi Di Torino should be around $20 and is my personal favorite to not break the bank.
