I got this specific bottle for essentially Chichibu money.
One thing I was really impressed about Chichibu was how complex and robust the flavors are despite being such young malts. Definitely worth grabbing a bottle (or a dram) when available.

But if you want to try some big, bold flavored Japanese whiskies and don't mind spending a fair bit more, anything from Akkeshi or Chichibu will be top tier imho
Chichibu, Akkeshi and Kanosuke were being handled by the same booth. Most of the Chichibu items on sale there were the Taiwan exclusive series from the past few years, including this year's release.
If you can find chichibu bottles then that would be a better value than getting some of the big name brands.
Oh man that’s some great bottle art on the Chichibu
Delightful, ever so slightly peated, the smoke is really subtle. Found it more complex in flavour than previous years I’ve managed to try. Other notes I got through were a bit of spice more than the fruits that others have had.
Collection includes Karuizawa, Ichiro's Malt (Hanyu and Chichibu), Yamazaki limited editions, rare old Nikka & Suntory bottles, Mars single casks and many other Japanese distillery single cask releases never sold in the US.
