Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 is a premium wireless headphone frequently praised for its luxury build quality and 'lush' sound signature. Users often highlight the use of high-end materials like Nappa leather, positioning it as a more premium alternative to mainstream flagships from Bose or Sony. While the sound is generally well-received for its detail and punchy bass, it is noted for being quite warm, which leads to mixed opinions among those who prefer a more neutral or natural tuning.

Pros

  • Exceptional build quality using premium materials like Nappa leather
  • Lush and detailed sound signature with deep, punchy bass
  • High level of comfort for extended use
  • Strong aesthetic appeal, specifically mentioned in red and gold variants

Cons

  • Recessed midrange frequencies
  • Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is described as mediocre compared to class leaders
  • Very high price point
  • Sound signature may be 'too warm' for some listeners

Caveats

  • Sound preference is highly subjective; while many love the tuning, some users found them 'terrible' for their tastes
  • One report of the headphones falling apart, though most users praise the construction
  • May require EQ adjustments to balance out the bass for certain listeners

Best for

  • Listeners who value premium materials and luxury design
  • Fans of a warm, immersive, and 'lush' sound profile
  • Users looking for a high-end musical experience in a wireless format

Avoid if

  • You prioritize industry-leading ANC over sound and build quality
  • You prefer a neutral or strictly natural auditory presentation
  • You are looking for the best value-to-performance ratio in the wireless market

I agree sound wise. They are excellent. I think the PX8 just messed it up for other headphones that don’t use premium parts. The PX8 just felt amazing and they also sound amazing.

I agree. I’m the type of person that really wants to get into the music so I enjoy that extra lush sound of the PX8. The natural sound would be cool for certain days but for the most part I really want to zone out and enjoy my headphones.

Because of that, I’m honestly thinking about returning them and trying to grab something like the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 or maybe the Focal Bathys if I can find them on sale.

I have the PX8 in red and gold and I love it. Yes, it might not beat wired headphones, but you gotta love the look and feel of Bowers & Wilkins.

I had Sony XM4 and Bathys but now I only use B&W PX8 as I like the tuning and fit of these.

If sound quality is more important than ANC you could check out B&W PX7s2e or PX8.

The PX8 is technically the best I've owned, with excellent deep and punchy bass, but the mids are recessed and the treble is good.

You want great auditory presentation for music/video? ... the best regardless of price (< $750) the Focal Bathys and the B7W Px8.
