Pros

• Also something like a 5700x with a 6600xt would probably work especially if you undervolt it. Both these combos will be decent 1080p ultra combos
• You can still find 3050's and 6600 xt's new which will do what he wants for 200$
• As a 5 year user of a 6600xt that recently upgraded, that card is a fuxking champ. It won't run anything at fuck off high setting but it get fucking rock solid middle of the road performance at 1080p.

Cons

• I have a 6600xt in my wife's PC, if you stay at 1080p then I wouldn't upgrade until it became an issue.
• If you plan to keep using it for another 2-3 years, I'd say you'll also need a new GPU, at least an RX 6600XT or RTX 3060, but preferably something of the newest generation.
• Just upgraded from an Asus 6600XT to a Sapphire 9060XT 16GB.
