Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Arctic Freezer 36 is highly regarded on Reddit as a premier budget air cooler, frequently praised for its dual-fan design and exceptional price-to-performance ratio. It is a popular alternative to AIOs and high-end air coolers, offering thermal performance that users claim is surprisingly close to much more expensive units. While generally noted for being quiet and easy to fit with tall RAM, it is a single-tower design that may reach its limits with high-end CPUs under extreme loads.

Pros

  • Excellent value, typically priced between $25 and $30
  • Dual-fan configuration provides high thermal capacity for its size
  • Good clearance for tall RGB RAM modules
  • Noise-normalized performance is competitive with higher-end coolers
  • Aesthetic design is frequently cited as a reason for purchase over competitors

Cons

  • Height can be an issue in smaller or budget cases, preventing side panels from closing
  • Occasional reports of high temperature spikes (up to 95°C) on certain high-heat CPUs
  • Some users find the fans loud during intensive gaming sessions

Caveats

  • Installation may require removing the motherboard in some budget cases due to mounting requirements
  • While it performs well, it is still a single-tower cooler and may be outclassed by larger dual-tower units for extreme overclocking

Best for

  • Budget-conscious PC builds
  • Mid-range CPUs like the Ryzen 5600X, 5700X3D, or 7600X
  • Users who prefer air cooling over AIO liquid coolers
  • Builds with tall RAM modules

Avoid if

  • Using a narrow or compact case with limited CPU cooler height clearance
  • Cooling flagship-tier CPUs that require maximum thermal dissipation

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is somewhat older, with a median source age of approximately 216 days, which may affect relevance for the most recent hardware releases.

I can specifically recommend the P12 PWM case fans and the freezer 36 could be a good, budget choice for cpu cooler

I have 5600x overclocked and my brother have 5700x3d, we both using Arctic Freezer 36 with mx-6 paste. Perfecly fine, max temps during hot summer can only reach like 70-73C but rarely, under full load its like 60-66C in games.

Arctic does bang-for-buck stuff that is cheap. Their Freezer 36 is $29 and will have high thermal capacity thanks to its two fans. Those fans should be a bit more quiet than the Thermalrights, but will have more cooling capacity than a single fan single tower.
