Pros

• No, it’s not the same but it makes my hair cleaner and softer, I don’t know the science behind it.
• Olive oil is not a conditioner, but apple cider vinegar *is* technically a conditioner. Acidic things close the cuticle because your hair *is* acidic.
• I started doing an apple cider vinegar rinse every wash (I only wash my hair once a week) and it's helped so much. Helps remove build up off my scalp and hair and it's nice and soft and smooth.
• I’ve used apple cider vinegar on my hair before, but idk if it really lightened my hair, but I did feel like it made it softer and shinier.

Cons

• ACV can't do the same thing as a clarifying shampoo. I keep seeing people refer to it as clarifying and it's really not accurate. There's no way it can clarify your hair. It doesn't have any surfactants, or naturally occurring saponins,...
• I don't recommend this. Both baking soda and apple cider vinegar have a pretty extreme pH for the hair which can be damaging. ... apple cider vinegar on its own has a pH of 2-3, which is too acidic for hair and skin
• Apple cider vinegar will not lighten the hair.
• I like it as a hair rinse, but not to replace a clarifying shampoo. It’s not effective in that manner
• ACV on its own is too acidic for the scalp and it being diluted won’t clean the scalp effectively.
