Pros

  • I like Aperol 🔥🔥
  • I've started my home bar and so far I've only used Aperol and/or Campari in the drinks I've prepared.
  • Cynar, Fernet, Aperol or Campari are dirt cheap and very common in supermarkets here.
  • rounded out by a nicely balanced, bittersweet trio of Amaro Averna, Aperol, and St Germain elderflower liqueur.
  • Naked & Infamous 3/4 oz Mezcal 3/4 oz Aperol 1/2 oz Anchor Reyes 1/2 oz Passion fruit Liqueur 3/4 oz Lime Juice

Cons

  • Or trying to find Campari or aperol in Idaho didn’t work either. Trying to explain what it was, was like speaking Chinese.
  • the reason for which is that I found it to be the ridiculously, cloyingly, unpleasantly sweet cousin of Campari.
  • Faccia Brutto Apertivo, which sits somewhere between Campari and Aperol

Parent context: Aren’t you supposed to refrigerate Aperol? I do and their website says to anyway Reply: I have never done so and have never experienced any off flavors from aperol. Apparently you’re right but it looks like it can take up to 12mo for aperol flavor to degrade, unlike wine base things.
