Pros

  • so the 4k mini led monitor i have my eye on right now and will probably be getteing is the AOC U27G4XM its a 4k with 1000 hdr and 1152 dimming zones
  • Personally I use the AOC U27G4XM which was 350$ on amazon (goes in and out of stock). It is a 4k mini led IPS monitor.
  • That said, the AOC is surprisingly good. Its response time is very good at 4K 160Hz. At 320Hz it's not the fastest monitor out there, but it's still noticeably smoother and clearer than 160Hz. For HDR, I'd say the AOC gets about 85–90% o...
  • For me, the AOC was clearly the better HDR monitor. ... The AOC consistently looked much closer to my iPhone 13 in terms of skin tones, shadow detail, contrast, and overall image depth. ... In many real HDR scenes, especially darker ones...
  • I think it should be good for the PS5 but for Mac usage I just don't know how a 4K 27 inch monitor works.

Cons

  • I have AOC U27G4XM and I had an issue with Display port 1.4 and started using HDMI 2.1 due to dual resolution switching DP gives me black screen while I had no issues so far in HDMI.
  • at the very least the AOC doesn’t have this issue, but it has a different issue where the backlight is locked to 60hz, the dual mode on all these monitors suck as none use integer scaling
  • I recently picked up the AOC U27G4XM and run local dimming, it does give slightly better contrast, but its really not that noticeable... I'm starting to think I made the wrong decision because the E16M apparently has a better dual mode t...
  • Ive had this monitor for a week now and id like to post a few notes ive found about it... SDR Local Dimming Strong is perfectly usable if you hate IPS glow and use dark reader. The detail isnt as good and you get some over dimming someti...
  • The aoc has slow local dimming zones in 60hz so unless you’re disabling LD definitely don’t go aoc.

For me, the AOC was clearly the better HDR monitor. ... The AOC consistently looked much closer to my iPhone 13 in terms of skin tones, shadow detail, contrast, and overall image depth. ... In many real HDR scenes, especially darker ones, the AOC actually looked brighter overall, while also producing better blacks, better shadow detail, and more contrast.

I recently picked up the AOC U27G4XM and run local dimming, it does give slightly better contrast, but its really not that noticeable... I'm starting to think I made the wrong decision because the E16M apparently has a better dual mode than the U27G4XM.

Ive had this monitor for a week now and id like to post a few notes ive found about it... SDR Local Dimming Strong is perfectly usable if you hate IPS glow and use dark reader. The detail isnt as good and you get some over dimming sometimes on small stuff, but having flicker free and no glow is great... SDR dark detail even with local dimming isnt amazing. There doesnt feel a lot of differences in the options. Still better than PURPLE BLEEEEED. HDR locks brightness setting to 100. There are no fine tuning at all allowed beyond the profiles if you have local dimming on.
