zen4's ipc is quite good. a 7600/x about equal to a 5800x3d in performance, but often lower lows, the extra ddr5 bandwidth bridges a good bit of the larger l3cache benefit but not all.

If your budget can't stretch to get a 9070xt or the like then save on the CPU and get a 7500f, 7600/X or 9600/X (depending on price)

I’d figure out if you actually need the 8 cores, because a 9600x or 7600(x) will give you basically the same gaming performance in 95% of scenarios.

I would personally want a 7500f/7600(x)/9600x/12700k/14600k to be paired with my 5070 or 5070ti.

Assuming you’re not on a tight budget: 7500f/7600(x)/9600x + 9070 XT or 5070ti + 32gb 6000mhz RAM

To avoid any “substantial bottlenecks” at 1440p and (especially 1080p) in most scenarios with games and specific graphics settings, I wouldn’t go lower than 5700x3d/7500f/7600(x)/9600x/12700k(f)/13600k(f)
