AMD Ryzen 5 5700
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700 (non-X) is widely regarded by the PC building community as a deceptive and 'crippled' product. While it offers 8 cores, it is based on the Cezanne architecture (like the 5700G) rather than the Vermeer architecture used in the 5700X, resulting in significantly lower L3 cache and a lack of PCIe 4.0 support.
Pros
- Provides 8 cores and 16 threads for budget-oriented productivity
- Low entry price for a high core-count AM4 processor
Cons
- Half the L3 cache (16MB vs 32MB) compared to the 5700X, which severely bottlenecks gaming performance
- Limited to PCIe 3.0, whereas the 5700X supports PCIe 4.0
- Deceptive naming that leads buyers to believe it is a slightly slower 5700X when it is actually a 5700G with disabled graphics
- Gaming performance is often comparable to the older Ryzen 3600 or the lower-tier 5500
Caveats
- Users frequently warn that this CPU is a 'trap' for those who do not closely check cache specifications
- Often confused with the 5700X, which is a vastly superior chip for gaming
Best for
- Budget productivity builds where core count is more important than gaming or PCIe speeds
- Users who find it at a significant discount compared to the 5600 or 5700X
Avoid if
- You are building a gaming-focused PC
- You require PCIe 4.0 for high-speed NVMe SSDs or modern GPUs
- The Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 5700X are available for a similar price

i would check if you can snag a used 5700x3d or 5800x3d, else a 5700 or 5800x will be a great update.
CPU is the bottleneck. Get at least Ryzen 5600(X), better 5600/5700/5800X3D, or alternatively 5700/5800XT if X3D are not available in your region.
You should edit your post to say "5700x" not "5700". 5700 is trash.
You could as others have said replace cpu with 5600/5700.
do not go for a 5500 or 5700 - they have half the cache of the other zen3 parts, more like 3600 performance, they actually are 5600g/5700g with a disabled igpu.
Unfortunately, the Ryzen 5700 is a bad CPU. It's essentially a laptop CPU in a desktop package. That's why it's limited to PCIe 3.0
just avoid the 5500, 5700 and any cpu with `G` in the model number.
Avoid the 5700 non-X, that uses the same die as the 5700G and is significantly slower than the 5700X/5800XT.
(5700x is fine though)
5600G, or 5700G, or 5700. 5700 might be the biggest trap of a CPU out there.
