I was playing games at a totally acceptable frame rate on a Ryzen 5 3600X... That's a 7 year old cpu at this point. In Battlefield 6, which is a pretty CPU intensive game, I was still getting 80-100FPS, at 1440p... Which is perfectly fine to play.

I'm on X370 chipset with Ryzen 5 3600X I can say that the performance diff from PCIe Gen 3 is negligible. Like in 3-5 FPS range. CPU on the other hand, it works fine on 1440p but falls short on comp games where I tend to throw everything at low settings.
When the package arrived, the box itself was well protected, but the CPU inside had no protection, and the black box with the heavy Wraith Spire cooler was sitting on top of the pins, bending them. The seller just put the CPU at the bottom with no protection, and the Wraith Spire was pressing on it causing multiple bent pins.
