AMD Radeon RX 9700 XT
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The AMD Radeon RX 9700 XT is positioned as a high-value alternative to NVIDIA's 50-series GPUs, particularly the 5070 Ti. While it is praised for its performance-to-price ratio and strong 1440p capabilities, users are divided on its effectiveness as a 4K card, with some noting it may struggle at that resolution without the use of FSR and frame generation.
Pros
- Excellent value compared to the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti in several regions.
- Strong performance pairing with modern CPUs like the Ryzen 9800X3D and 7600.
- Significant upgrade path for users coming from older hardware like the 4070 Ti.
- Often cited as a more logical purchase than the 5060 Ti for mid-range builds.
Cons
- Potential performance struggles at native 4K resolution in demanding titles.
- Large physical footprint for certain models, with some 3-fan versions reaching 343mm in length.
- Fewer features and lower raw performance compared to high-end NVIDIA alternatives.
Caveats
- 4K viability is often dependent on upscaling technologies like FSR and Frame Generation.
- Value propositions are highly dependent on regional pricing differences between AMD and NVIDIA.
- There is some community confusion regarding performance comparisons between the 9700 XT and the 9070 XT.
Best for
- High-refresh 1440p gaming.
- Budget-conscious 4K builds.
- Users who do not require NVIDIA-specific features like CUDA cores.
Avoid if
- You require uncompromising native 4K performance.
- Your PC case has strict clearance limits (under 345mm).
- You need CUDA for professional productivity workloads.
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is based on 21 mentions from early 2026 with a median age of approximately 201 days; as this is a fast-changing hardware category, newer benchmarks may supersede these community observations.

I *recall* people here saying those would pair with 9700xt or 5070 series GPU's.
Build around ryzen 9800x3d and rx9700xt
I don't really understand spending $80 on an AIO rather than putting that money into a real 2x16 RAM kit or going to a 5070 or 9700XT over a 5060ti.
Get a 9700xt for GPU or 5700/ti.
The only components that might limit my size is a 3 fan rx 9700xt thats 343mm, and a 3-fan Arctic Freezer 3 (38mm radiator thickness).
I went from a 4070 ti to a 9700 xt a few months ago and don't regret it.
There is a large group of people that claim the 9070xt will get better fps than the 9700xt and it makes zero sense based on every comparison video ive looked at it’s the opposite.
GPU: Asus Prime RX 9700 XT OC Edition
and the RX 9700 XT is a powerful GPU. There are no "bottlenecks."
The 9700 XT is very close in performance to the 5070 Ti, which for the 100CAD difference I would definitely go for over the 5060 ti.
