For 1080p and mainly playing Monster Hunter Wilds, the RX 9600 XT at $520 is the smarter choice. It’ll give you a solid performance boost over the 4060, and the extra $110 for the RTX 5070 isn’t going to make a huge difference for this game specifically. Go with the 9600 XT.
There's nothing wrong with picking either the 9060XT or 7800XT at those prices IMO - as long as you're aware of the compromises you're making by picking either card. I probably wouldn't spend any more on a 7800XT than a 9060XT today, but 40 dollars is a pretty marginal difference.
You'd be better off saving a little more money and going up to something like a 4060ti or a 9600XT
GPU running at 99-100% while gaming is exactly what you want to happen.
I mean the GPUs are meant to run at 95-100% usage at all times to dish out the best performance.
9060XT, it has the newer FSR tech, whereas the 6000 and 7000 cards are stuck with older versions of FSR.
9060 XT 16GB has better Ray tracing, FSR, 2 yr warranty and is cheaper. Tom's Hardware seems to like it quite a bit in this price range.
5600x/9600xt would probably be best bang for buck/ simplest upgrade. 16 gb ram is fine for gaming.
I had a 9600xt 16GB in mind, now my question is - Would my build be good enough for current and future games? I'm mainly interested in 1080p gaming, so no 2k stuff.
If I were picking (and I did not too long ago, I'd get the 9060xt) newer features and lower power draw.
