AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is highly regarded as a powerhouse for native rasterization, particularly for 1440p ultrawide and 4K gaming. Users frequently praise its 20GB VRAM as a significant advantage for future-proofing and memory-intensive tasks like high-resolution modding. While it offers a strong price-to-performance ratio, the experience is occasionally marred by software-related stutters or stability issues that may require manual tuning or driver troubleshooting.
Pros
- Excellent native rasterization performance, capable of maxing out settings at 1440p ultrawide.
- Large 20GB VRAM buffer is superior for high-resolution textures and heavy modding compared to 16GB cards.
- Strong value proposition, especially when found at discounted or open-box price points.
- Effective thermal management when undervolted, with minimal performance loss at lower power limits.
Cons
- Ray tracing performance is generally considered just 'okay,' often needing FSR to maintain 60 FPS.
- Reports of software instability, including crashes and micro-stuttering in specific titles like Warzone.
- High power draw and heat output necessitate a high-quality 750W+ PSU and good case airflow.
- Potential for minor coil whine, though many users report it is quiet enough to be ignored.
Caveats
- Some reported 'stutters' or 'black screens' were resolved by users swapping to higher-quality power cables rather than being inherent GPU flaws.
- Optimal performance and efficiency often require manual intervention, such as undervolting or tweaking fan curves.
- Software and driver maturity is a recurring point of discussion, with some users finding it less polished than the competition.
Best for
- 1440p ultrawide and 4K single-player gaming.
- Users who prioritize raw rasterization and VRAM capacity over ray tracing features.
- PC builders comfortable with minor software troubleshooting and undervolting.
Avoid if
- Ray tracing and DLSS are your primary criteria for a GPU purchase.
- You require a strictly 'plug-and-play' experience without any potential for driver-related tweaking.

I have a 7900XT and it's absolutely killer and runs everything I throw at it incredibly well on max settings 1440p ultrawide.
I've got a 7900xt and 7950x3d and couldn't be happier. Runs everything at max settings 1440p ultrawide.
I love the card its really good but crashing in almost every game is so frustating.
Mentre passando ad una 7900xt le prestazioni nei giochi sono diventate incredibili!
The 7900XT is a 20 GB and that extra VRAM will allow you to play more upscale textures and mods than a 16GB card (even the new ones will hit that 16 GB crawling and stutter).
5070 would bottleneck a bit bcuz of ur cpu....in ur case id get a 9060 xt or upgrade my cpu so that it doesn't bottleneck
The 4070ti super is solid too for e-sports titles. I'm not sure about AUD pricing but the AMD equivalent 6950xt or 7900xt/xtx are good choices too especially if you don't care about DLSS tech and ray tracing.
I would prefer AMD at this point so either get them a 9060xt or give them my 7900xt and I would go to a 9070xt Mercury OC.
But, if I were you, I still wouldn’t upgrade to a 5070 Ti if I had an RX7900XT., only if you can find a good deal, and get some cash back selling the 7900XT.
No, I went from a 7900 XT to a 5070 TI and I don't even think *that* trade is worth 200 euro.
