Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • RX 470, 480, 570, 580 Any of the 4 that OP can get his hands on. Preferably one of the 8GB models. Price/performance they beat anything else as ultra budget cards.
  • RX 470, RX 570, RX 480, RX 580, GTX 1060 are all somewhat similar in performance, GTX 1650 is also an option, but like 25% worse than the other cards... Still a somewhat decent 1080p Budget Option though.
  • Or hope to find a rx480 for a normal price, or 580 etc.
  • On the lower end (~$50), I would say something like an RX 480 or GTX 970 is a fine card for 1080p.
  • an AMD GPU...RX 470/480/570/580/5600/5700...6GB or higher variants.

Cons

  • On the other hand, Geminis and Copilot say that the 8GB RX 480 is definitely much better for me than a 4GB RX 580.

For AMD probably like the RX 480/580, or possibly the r9 series.

My first 8GB card was the RX 480 back in 2016. 1080P Ultra games back then used maybe 4-5GB of VRAM max, and over time that gew.
