Amazon Echo Dot

Pros

• Meanwhile I have an echo dot in every room and smart switches in the wall. Seems to work well enough…
• Snag an echo dot for $30 and you’re golden.
• We have a half dozen echo dots hooked ip to various sound systems in every room. They all sync audio, play individually or in any named group, can each be addressed from any room, and are so seamless even guests use it.
• I was going to opt for Google, but people seem to complain about the support, so was going to buy a cheap Echo Dot to test out Alexa instead.
• I've been using the Echo Dot - it's decent

Cons

• We had an older echo dot that I'm told won't work with the smart lights. But it's super basic and gets stuff wrong all the time.
• Kind of like how Sonos works, but a ton cheaper and a ton more spying on your conversations (I do plan to eventually break free of the dots and use another voice activation one day, but one project at a time).
• On the top shelf is the Tapo router and an Echo dot.
• They're both rubbish.
