16" M1 Pro

Pros

• I never had problems with that, neither on the M1 Air nor the M1 Pro, they always worked on the first try.
• My work machine is a 17” M1 Pro and the size and with isn’t bad for portability.
• 3 years, constant use and battery health is at 92%. I’m surprised, this thing lasts. M1 Pro, 16inch, 16GB memory…
• Will not be overkill. It’ll last. Solid performance, solid build, solid specs. You’ll use it forever.
• Its an ok price.

Cons

• M1 pro is pretty slow comparing to modern ones. I think a brand new M4 is much better for about the price.
• for me, the TouchID/Power Button has never locked my MacBook consistently, back on the Intel models and on mu current M1 Pro 2021 14”. ... even testing right now, locking with the TouchID Button works only on second or third press.
• Parent context: For someone who’s going to be moving along a lot, I don’t see the benefit. 16”, for me, is a desktop replacement type of laptop. Reply: Why?
