12VHPWR is an abomination, considering the 12-pin at 8-pin size already existed beforehand, not looking at you BeQuiet.
Yup. 12VHPWR is a shit spec because it has shit margins. It's especially shit when you take into account it was deployed no more than a few GPU generations before top range GPUs already started getting close to, or even exceeding its rated power limits.
Nvidia chose to not do this, likely due to PCB size constraints, but you COULD. But that's totally separate from why they wanted a new connector in the first place, which as far as I can tell, are all valid and good reasons.
