Tiger lotus are really cool like that. They also grow very quickly.
after they are established they are incredibly hardy plants and will reproduce by growing more offshoots of bulbs to the side of it over time.
Just gotta say how much I love Tiger Lotus. What an incredibly hardy, versatile and easy to grow plant! I have 3 in my 40g and they all have a unique style. I'm about 9 months in to keeping planted tanks and lotus has been the easiest to care for from day one.
A tiger lotus would give that same pop or red without the risks! Forgot about that plant. And I personally think it would look amazing in that setup!

I just purchased one today and I'm honestly kicking myself for planting 3 star jasmine along where I could've just planted one of these bad boys!
Parent context: question-does it damage the fence at all? i was considering starting some along a fence line to cover up my neighbor’s dog 💩smell- but it’s my neighbors fence and i didn’t want it to end up getting damaged (more than it already is) Reply: For reference, her fence was a white wooden fence and it held up with the weight and pressure of the vine.
As a letter carrier and a gardener, I love the jasmine and would be so happy to see it so long as it doesn't get out of control.
It’s so pretty and smells so good when it blooms. A few years ago I was able to grow some from seeds from that house and have a whole new one starting along the fence
