Star jasmine

Parent context: question-does it damage the fence at all? i was considering starting some along a fence line to cover up my neighbor’s dog 💩smell- but it’s my neighbors fence and i didn’t want it to end up getting damaged (more than it already is) Reply: For reference, her fence was a white wooden fence and it held up with the weight and pressure of the vine.

As a letter carrier and a gardener, I love the jasmine and would be so happy to see it so long as it doesn't get out of control.

It’s so pretty and smells so good when it blooms. A few years ago I was able to grow some from seeds from that house and have a whole new one starting along the fence

Star jasmine (aka Confederate jasmine) is hardy through the mild winters here. People have it on fences, on trellises around houses and garages, and around mailboxes. The white flowers bloom around this time of year, producing a really remarkable scent.

It grows pretty fast. I think I planted this two years ago, although time kinda blends together and it could have been three years.

It loves the sun. That’s the only advice I can give. I watered it a couple times a week the first six months then I just forgot to water it ever since.

It's truly my favorite scent in the whole world.
