The local mode white noise options are unusable. They’re extremely short loops with multiple seconds of completely dead air when the loop restarts. Also 3/4 of the sounds are locked behind a monthly subscription paywall. If you don’t want to use any of the “sleep sound” features there are *much* cheaper options out there. I've been using the A30s since they got here. No complaints or issues with those so far. I sleep exclusively on my sides.
But if you can stand combining some sort of earbuds (I like the A20s, and the new A30s are probably better, but those are both more expensive than you want)
After the update they really aren't bad for general background noise. I put them on before bed and lay on the couch as my spouse is watching tv at a normal volume and it is all very muted. It helps me relax in general.

I have Soundcore A30s and they honestly have changed my life. I created my own background sounds from their software and have downloaded them into the earbuds with brown and green noise which effectively blocks out my spouse's snoring, and blocks out other noises as well
