AI summary — not a quote

Destination CISSP is highly regarded as a concise, visually engaging alternative to the dense Official Study Guide (OSG). Users frequently praise its readability and lack of "fluff," making it a preferred primary or secondary study resource for the CISSP exam. While it is often cited as the "backbone" of successful study plans, some users find it lacks the granular detail found in more exhaustive texts.

Pros

  • Highly concise and readable compared to the Official Study Guide (OSG).
  • Strong visual elements and layout that aid in understanding complex topics.
  • Effective for building a solid foundation without unnecessary filler.
  • Frequently rated 9/10 or 10/10 by successful exam candidates.

Cons

  • May lack hyper-specific or granular details required for some niche exam topics.
  • Practice questions and tests are sometimes described as "light" or less effective than the book itself.
  • Can feel like a collection of notes rather than a deep dive for some users.

Destination Certification Book 10/10: I used this as the main source, but only because I am old school (law school probably played big part so I have to have a hard copy of stuff). Very similar content to the masterclass but without John's tips at the end.

The Destination Certification Masterclass is widely considered a premier, top-tier resource for CISSP exam preparation. Reddit users consistently praise its high production quality, interactive visual teaching style, and ability to simplify complex concepts. While it carries a premium price tag, many successful candidates report it was their primary or sole study source, often finding it superior to official ISC2 training and traditional bootcamps.

Pros

  • Highly structured and clear explanations that help 'connect the dots' between domains
  • Interactive visual style that is more engaging than traditional PowerPoint-heavy courses
  • Comprehensive enough to be used as a sole source for passing the CISSP exam
  • Excellent instructor access, including live Q&A sessions and responsive guidance

Cons

  • High cost, with users noting it can be around $2,000 or roughly three times the cost of the exam itself
  • Intensive time commitment, particularly for the 5-day 'live' remote sessions

Destination Certification Masterclass 11/10: Really nice structure, extremelly nicely explained topics. Haven't seen so much effort into explaining things in a while, and trust me I continually learn new stuff using all sort of sources.

I used Destination Certification and Quantum Exams. Both are good and the Destination Certification app just got refreshed recently with tougher questions.

Destination Certification and the Dest Cert community: Their approach to teaching the CISSP concepts and, more importantly, the right mindset was extremely helpful. The community support and shared experiences also helped me stay motivated.
