Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • Idk if it's available in your region, but I'd suggest Yuengling
  • Sam Adams Boston Lager, Brooklyn Lager, Yuengling, Dos Equis Ambar, and Negra Modelo are all solid year-round picks that hit that same smooth malty vibe.
  • I don't about hype, but Yuengling has always been well-positioned to absorb sales when buyers are fatigued from other beer fads and/or excessive pricing. Better than other American macros for similar money.
  • They're a dependable Mass Market beer. IMO I like them a lot better than the Coors or Bud that's out there.
  • I agree like Yuengling, Modelo, Blue Moon.

Cons

  • That's because Yuenglings not very good. Only a small step above other macros like Bud.
  • a shit beer like yuengling or Coors
  • Yuengling does something similar but I believe it's their born on date.
  • When the only options are Bud, Coors or Yuengling I'll have to reach for it. Otherwise it can stay there.
  • I only avoid it because it sucks

And it's not the best beer no matter how you look at it. People that like it are just used to it. Yeungling was the standard years ago at most bars. It was a step above most domestic stuff. But it's just fine. I only drink it if someone else buys one and gives me one.

Parent context: The owner is an anti-union, anti-worker scumbag. Used to drink that garbage in college, worst beer shits in the world. Reply: The owner is an anti-union, anti-worker scumbag. Used to drink that garbage in college, worst beer shits in the world.

It has the very distinct smell of tortoise poop, it's especially prevalent when sipping the beer rather than when smelling it directly.
