Yamaha MODX

Pros

• If you want a workstation synth, then you need to spend a little bit more to get into Yamaha modx, Roland Fantom O and Korg Nautilus territory.
• Yamaha ModX can do all that.
• It's sort of a modern incarnation of the DX7, which was all over 80s music, plus a sample and wave engine. It covers a lot of territory.
• the MODX is 75% of that synth [Montage M] for a quarter of the price.
• I have been very happy with my Modx.

Cons

• The MODX, Fantom 08 and Nautilus are slightly lower tier, which you'll notice in the build quality and the keyboard feel. ... If you like the MODX's keys sufficiently, get that.
• The Yamaha MODX+ range is a slightly cheaper workstation, but my main beef with Yamaha at the moment is on the software side.
• The old Modx keyboard was the first thing that made me get a Fantom 0, followed by the confused, limited UI, lack of sliders and lack of decent synth sounds.

• I looked for a synth + sequencer type of thing, and I remember that tge sequencer part of the MoDX seemed very limited. More like a simple groove box than a workstation.
