Wurkkos HD03
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Wurkkos HD03 is a versatile, budget-friendly clip light frequently compared to the Olight Oclip. It is highly regarded for its utility as a hands-free tool for runners and workers due to its strong clip and high CRI flood light. However, it is held back by a weak magnet, a polarizing user interface for secondary features, and a non-removable battery.
Pros
- Strong, grippy clip ideal for belts, hats, and waistbands
- Regulated output with effective thermal management
- High CRI flood light with a useful flood/throw switch
- Compact and lightweight form factor
- Excellent value at its price point
Cons
- Weak magnet that struggles to support the light's weight on some surfaces
- Non-removable battery limits the product's long-term lifespan
- Noticeable green tint in the emitters
- Frustrating UI requiring extra clicks to exit Turbo or select RGB colors
- Flimsy rubber USB-C charging port cover compared to metal alternatives
Caveats
- Button quality is inconsistent; some users report a tactile click while others experience sticking
- The textured plastic lens is more prone to scratching than glass
- RGB perimeter lights are often described as a gimmick with difficult-to-use controls
- Fits tightly in some third-party headlamp straps, which may cause a slight rattle
Best for
- Hands-free use such as running or clipping to a hat
- Budget-conscious users seeking an alternative to the Olight Oclip
- Close-range tasks requiring a high CRI flood beam
Avoid if
- You require a strong magnetic base for mounting on metal surfaces
- You are sensitive to green tints in LED emitters
- You prefer flashlights with user-replaceable batteries

Wurkkos HD03. not really keychain but close and pretty versatile
That's true, but the HD03 had PWM. I didn't notice any PWM on the HD04
They also claimed the hd03 had a buck driver. I dont have hope for the hd04...
Still better than a non-replaceable battery, isn't it? Don't forget, it's around the size of a wurkkos HD03!
However, my button is mush city. It's so bad it's almost unusable, I really got screwed with the button somehow.
I've been using (or rather, trying to use) a Wurkkos HD03, but its propensity to shine only forward is not making it easy to justify as an EDC like you'd put on a backpack strap facing front. I wish it'd naturally angle a bit downwards, or have the option to.
I dont like that the battery self drains to LVP shut off in about 3 months. There is no way to turn off the standby drain.
The main downside is the lack of a dedicated and brighter red light.
The HD03 is the best value option: significantly cheaper, strong spot, good range, and a pleasant, warmer floodlight with better color rendering. Form factor and UI are also solid.
I've got a ton of lights, but the HD03 has been living with me since it came in. It's just amazingly useful for the size.
