  • Wuben A1 blows everything else out of the water.
  • For specific use like search and rescue, the A1 will be better, puts a lot more usable light into that hotspot more an a mile down range.

Cons

  • In fact I’ll have you know I talked myself out of a $600 Wuben A1 yesterday.
  • The only thing I wish it would have is a pass-through type of circuit where you can run the light exclusively off of a mains or powerstation.

The A1 has four SBT90.2 emitters, a much wider spill and hotspot, and is massive compared to the K75 2.0. While they share the same throw distance, the A1's hotspot is about three times larger, putting way more light downrange, and the spill on it is just massive. The A1’s spill is actually great for walking on low modes and the hotspot isn't too piercing. If you’re after the most impressive thrower and don’t care about size or weight, the A1 is definitely my top recommendation.

I have the X75-BP8, the K75 2.0, and my A1, and the A1 is far more impressive than the other two. It's a 2.5km thrower, but with a much broader hotspot thanks to its 4× SBT90.2 emitters, and it also has an enormous amount of flood. It also has an 8-cell battery pack, just like the X75, and it actually has a remote control you can use to operate it. It is a 20K lumen thrower with really good sustained output. From its 20K lumens for 2 minutes, it drops down to 6,000 lumens, which it can maintain for 2 hours. Furthermore, it can hold 4,000 lumens for 5 hours in its medium mode, which is completely insane. It is alot more pricey than the other 2 but it's it worth it all, in my opinion.

Parent context: Seeing he already had an MS18, I absolutely thought about the wuben A1 you posted yesterday. I don't even know the specs of this flashlight. But considering a 3x21d puts out around 5K lumens and 800 000 candela, I'm betting this one has all he needs if he's ready to spend that much Reply: Yeah, that was exactly why I thought of the A1 too, he already seemed willing to spend a bit on a serious light since he had the MS18. Specs for the A1 are listed at around 1.5–2 million candela on turbo, but many people have measured it significantly higher than what Wuben officially states.

The A1 is a far better light (electronically, I.e. driver) than the GT94x. I had both at the same time and I absolutely sold the GT94x ASAP.
