Convoy

Convoy is widely recognized in the flashlight community as a leader in the "value trinity" alongside Wurkkos and Sofirn. It is highly praised for its exceptional price-to-performance ratio and a deep level of customization that allows users to select specific emitters and hosts. While the brand is a favorite for enthusiasts and modders due to its repairable design and available parts, it is characterized by a no-frills approach that often excludes modern conveniences like integrated charging.
Pros
- Exceptional value-to-performance ratio, often described as unbeatable for the price.
- High degree of customization with various emitter, driver, and host options.
- Modder-friendly design that is easy to tear down, repair, or upgrade.
- Solid fit and finish that many users find superior to other budget brands.
- Simple user interface that serves as a straightforward alternative to complex systems like Anduril.
Cons
- Many popular models lack integrated USB-C charging, requiring a separate battery charger.
- The ordering process can be unintuitive and confusing for first-time buyers.
- Occasional reports of initial reliability issues or inconsistent quality control.
- USB-C charging ports on equipped models may have narrow openings that don't fit all cable housings.
Caveats
- Models without USB ports are often recommended over those with ports if waterproofing is a high priority.
- The simple UI is polarizing; while some appreciate the lack of complexity, others find it 'ass' or too basic.
- Navigating the official store requires more research than mainstream brands to ensure you get the desired configuration.
Best for
- Flashlight enthusiasts and modders who want to customize their hardware.
- Budget-conscious buyers looking for high-quality emitters and solid build quality.
- Users who prefer a simple, no-nonsense interface.
Avoid if
- Integrated USB-C charging is a deal-breaker for your use case.
- You want a streamlined, mainstream 'plug-and-play' purchasing experience.
- You prefer highly programmable and feature-rich firmware like Anduril.

Definitely not because I wanted another 3 convoys LOL
I kept using my cheap convoy/sofirn flashlights. That's when it hit me, these beater flashlights were more reliable than anything else I have, and I have a LOT.
Brother, check out Convoy. I've had a problem with one light from them. I emailed Simon and he gave me several ways to try to fix it when they didn't work he had a completely new flashlight sent to me. I know everybody loves their high dollar name brands but when it comes to customer quality I don't think Convoy can be beat.
And of course I have my Convoy lights as a backup to my backup.
I just felt that Convoy deserves to be covered first, as it has so many options (additionally they're very inexpensive, so it's easy for me to order a lot of different models).
Most other companies allow owners to work on their lights, Convoy makes it a selling point.
I’ll have to try Sofirn and a few of the others soon, but I want at least a couple more Convoy lights first 😇 I like them way more than my Wurkkos torches.
I have a strong 💪 feeling that “Simon Mao” convoy flashlight CEO and founder uses only the best CCTs / bins of these LEDs based off convos I’ve had and of all the lights I’ve had. He QAQCs the LEDs before they even get assigned/assembled in a host/ flashlight from what I’ve been told.
Actually I’ve ordered from convoy wurkkos and Sofirn as well with zero issues. Everything hits me within 10 days.
I just got an order from convoy in seven days to the US.
