WD Elements

Pros

• I usually go with WD either Elements or EasyStore and they've been great for me.
• I've had good experiences with both the WD EasyStore and Elements. As far as USB bridges go, they tend to be pretty stable and they're good about powering down the drive properly.
• The wd elements are 150 each atm.
• I’ll probably buy WD elements cuz I couldn’t find any good enclosures in my country (for ones I could find there were reviews about corrupted file systems and etc, scary stuff).
• I'd just go for a boring 14–16TB desktop external from a big brand. Common picks are WD Elements / My Book or a Seagate Expansion desktop drive – cheap, simple, and big enough for this use case.

Cons

• Assuming my HDD is a WD Elements.
• Maybe shuck one out of a secondhand WD Easystore or WD Elements?
• They can get hot with no cooling but most enclosed drives you can buy like wd elements or the Seagate expansion drives do not have fans either iirc.
• For anyone who has bought WD Elements or similar in the past and had to put electrical tape on that one pin, you don't have to do that on these which is super nice.
• I see on amazon some WD ELEMENTS 4-5TB for around 130-140€, would they be reliable?
