Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • Haven't been to Verbier either, but if you're into freeriding, I have heard that it's quite interesting in that regard.
  • I would add Verbier, St. Anton, Obertauern, La Thuile.
  • If you want any freeride (if you got the knowledge to do it in Europe of course) Verbier.
  • There are resorts where people will go for off piste on marked routes, ski routes. They're mitigated to a point... St Anton, Ischgl, Verbier, Chamonix all have some of mitigation
  • Not everywhere, Verbier has ungroomed and avy controlled yellow itinerary runs

Cons

  • If you really want the food then Chamonix over Verbier.

That being said, a few resorts that come to mind which offer a decent amount of these types of runs are: Davos/Klosters Verbier (4 Vallées) Val d'Isere/Tignes

When there is snow to the valley floor…we can ski 8200 vertical feet, one run, lift to lift. Verbier.
