Unifi Express 7

Pros

• I recently picked up a UniFi Express 7 for my parents. This will be my first unify device so I don't have any knowledge about them.
• Another vote for the Unifi UX7. Start out as a gateway and you can always add a switch / more APs or convert it to an AP.
• A UX7 is an easy start -- if you need to upgrade it later, it becomes an AP, and you just backup/restore your network config to a UCG or UDR.
• The only thing they offer that just does network is the cloud gateway ultra or the Unifi express 7 if you needed another AP.
• Unifi Express 7 If it can be placed somewhat central-ish, one AP should provide decent coverage.

Cons

• if you're using three UX7's, then if you take a look at the Rtings testing for the UX7 versus the (now $50 cheaper) Eero Pro 7, you'll notice the UX7 absolutely eats beans compared to the Eero on range so you might as well buy the Eero f...
• I wish I had gotten the UniFi Express 7 which is essentially the same with less ports. I misunderstood something so 70 dollars probably wasted although I ended up using the porta.
• I've personally landed on UniFi Express 7 + Switch Flex 2.5G PoE, but I am worried about the range of the UX7 vs. my current asus rt-ax86u + two extenders that have worked well for me.
• The UniFi dream router 7 isn’t your only option with them, look at the UniFi express 7.
