I love my Ugoos. CoreELEC is such a fabulous system! I thought FEL playback (CPM builds, etc) were available in 3 or 4 devices... but the AM6B+ is usually a/the top recommendation.
If your looking for dolby vision profile 7 FEL there is only 1 option (outside of physical blueray): The ugoos am6b+ box is the only one that supports it and it needs to run corelelec (kodi).
I’m told that if you want DV FEL support then you will need the Ugoos am6b+ running CPM coreELEC build.
UGoos AM6B+ for real Dolby Vision
If you’re a Plex user and you need Atmos pass through, that’s the one thing it can’t do, so I have the Ugoos AM6B+ for Plex and the ATV for everything else
I ended up pulling the trigger on the Ugoos AM6B+ to pair with my LG CX. I’m chasing that proper FEL Dolby Vision playback and I think this combo is going to hit the sweet spot for my setup.
The reason I ask is that people jump through a lot of hoops to set up the Ugoos am6b+ for that stuff, but for most people I’d say it’s not necessarily worth the effort unless you’re an absolute enthusiast. If you want FEL support then get the Ugoos. But be prepared to be locked into Kodi, with a device that has a shit remote, buggy HDMI CEC, and be endlessly digging through forums to set up plugins and skins.
Get a UGoos + CoreElec CPM build to get DV FEL 7 and get an Apple TV 4K to do streaming part.
For the selling price the Ugoos is a no-brainer.
