Pros

  • I'm running Ubuntu 26.04 on my XPS14 for a few months now and loving it. Snappy, long battery life after switching to oem kernel.
  • An update. I am not sure exactly when, but my webcam started working on Ubuntu 26.04 (only 720p).
  • Ubuntu 26.04 may good for you.
  • Ubuntu 26.04 is amazing bro.
  • One thing that improved is that the libinput workaround is no longer necessary anymore.

Cons

  • Everything I tried on 26.04 was a 💩'show for one reason or another.. then there's the Snaps themselves downloaded Strawberry player first thing that pops up "go get it from the repos because through a snap we can't actually manage your...
  • Ubuntu 26.04 Live USB → black screen after Ubuntu logo * Installed Ubuntu 26.04 → black screen on normal boot
  • The reason that Ubuntu (and others) do it that way, is the licensing prohibits redistribution. It absolutely sucks, but distros can’t risk distributing things and getting in trouble for not following the license
  • Ubuntu 26.04 works in general with some sound issues after sleep/resume

I installed 26.04 immediately upon receiving it and have been mostly issue free besides the webcam and weird audio. The audio works, it just feels pretty flat compared to what I think it should be. Would really love to run cachyos on here but going to try and stick with Ubuntu since that's what's officially going to be supported.
