Ubuntu 24.04

Pros

• I have a 6600xt on Ubuntu 24.04. Worked seamlessly, didn't have to tweak or install anything.

• In your case I would download ubuntu 24.04 and then try booting from it. If it boots to GUI and connects to the network, then run also a memory test.
• For the OS, I will probably install Ubuntu 24.04, since that's supported for Perforce Servers
• Ubuntu 24.04 (because it's a Long Term Support version)

Cons

• Linux / Ubuntu 24.04 is usually set to max performance out of the box. It's on the user to dial in the battery life for the user's use case.
• I'm trying to install a dual-boot set-up with Ubuntu 24.04 (using the latest stable ISO). ... But every time I select it, the machine resets and I get the error above ('no bootable devices').
• I'm running kernel 6.17 on Ubuntu 24.04 and it's "fine ish" as long as I don't open the signal menus, otherwise it might bug some times and lower the speed drastically.
• I have tried a live versions of Ubuntu 24.04, 24.10, Pop!_OS 24.04 with Cosmic Alpha 5 and 6, Nobara 41 GNOME, Nobara Official (with KDE), and all have various issues that are not always the same issues.
• I have not installed Linux on the Legion since the Nvidia drivers have been updated to version 570, but I tried many distros last year. Ubuntu 24.04, EndeavourOS, CachyOS, Nobara 40. All were problematic at the time.
