Pros

  • I didn't expect to enjoy this location as much as I did. It was a blast finding different things to eat and picking up gifts at the different vendor stalls. Just an overall pleasant experience.
  • Also don't skip a morning visit to Tsukiji Outer Market for fresh sushi breakfast!

Cons

  • I would skip Tsukiji, Kabukicho and Omoide, tourist traps.
  • Also, the Tsukiji market is just a tourist trap now. Not a real market.
  • Forget Tsukiji. It is no longer a market; the whole thing is just a tourist trap. The real market has moved to Toyosu.
  • I'd also consider cutting Tsukiji Outer Market, which has become a bit of a tourist stop.
  • Agreed on Tsukiji. You’ll have eaten better food a dozen times already during your trip.

Tsukiji is a waste of time. You get the same food anywhere else at normal hours and without the crowds. Possibly cheaper.

No, it's not. The actual market was razed 8 or 9 years ago, and all that is left are lines of shops selling non-unusual items to tourists for prices as high as quintuple what you'd pay elsewhere.

In my personal opinion,  tsukij outer market is truly just a tourist trap now. Go to the new fish market at Toyosu instead.

I'd skip Tsukiji Outer Market, since it's mostly marked-up sushi sold primarily to foreign tourists.

I appreciate your input for Tsukiji. I'm using Bonvoy Points for our hotel in Ginza, and since it's walking distance to Tsukiji, I thought it would be a good spot for breakfast again. If it's not worth it, I'll omit it from day 5.
