Pros
- I love playing The Mind with people who aren’t “board game players”. Casual people seem to appreciate the simplicity of it right away.
- I have kids at my school play it. I tell them they can't communicate in any way... They then proceed to try and "subtly" twitch, blink, roll their eyes, and mumble... I pretend to be mad but they cheer every time they get a win. Lots of...
- This is a great drinking game! Anytime someone messing up it's a drink for everyone and an extra drink for the offender. The game gets harder as you go along, and the more drunk you are the more fun! I really like it, some of the best 4...
- Years ago I played this with my sister, mom, and stepdad who all aren’t board gamers at all. We somehow ended up beating it without losing. We were all on the same wavelength. We did not “cheat” and use the meta strategy, it was pure vib...
- It’s one of those games that you can learn in just a few minutes, but mastering it is a completely different story. The rules are incredibly simple, yet the challenge is surprisingly deep. Easy to learn, difficult to master - and much mo...
Cons
- Played this twice a few years ago. Likely to never be played again.
- I also really like this game but I have found that when I try it with new people it’s a love it or hate it reaction, no in between. Mind you this is with people that are already accustomed to various types of games and The Mind is one of...
- When we were playing Mind we had to stop listening to music because without saying anything everyone was following the rythm and it was way to easy
- Perhaps I should point out that in Mind - which sounds similar to your example (though ascending order) you are not allowed to speak at all. But it’s well known to both be ‘cheat able’ and that doing so rather ruins the point of playing it.
- Instead of The Mind > play Take Time

Years ago I played this with my sister, mom, and stepdad who all aren’t board gamers at all. We somehow ended up beating it without losing. We were all on the same wavelength. We did not “cheat” and use the meta strategy, it was pure vibes. It was one of the most exhilarating gaming experiences I’ve ever had!
I also really like this game but I have found that when I try it with new people it’s a love it or hate it reaction, no in between. Mind you this is with people that are already accustomed to various types of games and The Mind is one of the few they genuinely dislike

the rest of us play a quick couple rounds of a simple game like the mind or flip 7.
