In *Le Petit Prince*, the little prince is the only person living on his planet so he's the ruler by default, there is no precise status defined and it's not important.

The little Prince is a common first one as it has philosophy and such and not just for kids.

I’ve been working through The Little Prince with this methods and it’s a delight.

The Little prince deals with love and loneliness, and I recall a bit about the boy having to leave, and being sad because someone else (the snake?) is going to be sad and lonely at the departure.

in litterature the character is said to be a Prince rather than a little king because the figure of a Prince is linked with a learner, a king in becoming. Someone who learns to be a sovereign. There it connect with didactic purposes of the book.
