In *Le Petit Prince*, the little prince is the only person living on his planet so he's the ruler by default, there is no precise status defined and it's not important.

The little Prince is a common first one as it has philosophy and such and not just for kids.

I read along with this video series from Khroo Arty. I would practice reading the line to myself, then listen to Khroo Arty’s version, and do this for many rounds.

Saint Exupéry, c'est parfait. Le Petit Prince, Vol de nuit, Courrier Sud, Terre des hommes, all somewhat similar and simple.

Parent context: Would Le Petit Prince warrant a mention? Think it’s the most translated book in the world bar the by the bible perhaps. Though it’s aimed at kids, I read it recently as an adult and I loved it. Very sweet book full of hope and wonder. Reply: I'm pretty sure it's actually aimed at adults, or rather at children they used to be. And in my experience adults actually enjoy it more than kids do.

i’m reading "le petit prince", ie "the little prince", in french - and im also only at a rather intermediate level. it’s short, it’s mostly pretty simple language and it was originally written in french so it’s nice to read the original version.

The one book I've most often seen recommended for beginners is "Le petit prince", so that might be worth checking out.
