Pros
- I’ve had the QM7L in my basement TV room for 2 weeks and couldn’t be happier. I watched some side be side comparisons and preferred the more natural look over the QM8L.
- The 7L is a great upgrade.
- TCL QM8L or QM7L... Even lasts years TCL QM8 and 7 Ks are excellent. Much more affordable and just as good if not better than Sonys, Samsung and LGs. Also, they are very bright and look amazing in a dark room ( and a bright one)
- once you tweak the picture settings it does have a very nice picture, with no halo effect or “dirty screen” effect. Pretty happy with it overall
- The QM7L is significantly better than the QM64L. It's much brighter, has a lot more local dimming zones, less blooming and better black levels. ... SQD is the new panel that was introduced on the higher end TCL's this year. (QM7L, QM8L,...
Cons
- TCL QM7l is using the same processor as last year's models what ashame they should have included the newer processor
- The qm7l has vrr unusable with PS5, you get inverse ghosting and there's still no fix. I've seen some reports saying the qm8l has that fixed but don't take my word for it. Other than that it's a fantastic tv.
- The QM7L is definitely a different animal from older TCLs. The 2026 model has TCL’s newer TSR AiPQ processor and a native 144Hz panel, and measured pixel response time is actually very good. ... RTINGS still rates its motion handling as...
- It’s a shame they say the picture isn’t very accurate in HDR.
- The QM7L might just have better colour output but be beaten by the QM9K in every other regard.

RTINGS still rates its motion handling as only “decent” and notes softness around fast-moving objects; higher-end TCLs also measure better at upscaling and smoothing low-quality sources.
Qm7l is a way better tv than the qm7k. If you can afford it get it! The qm7k has slightly smoother motion if you game but the qm7l is brighter and better picture with better hdr and more vibrant colors.
