TCL QM751G
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The TCL QM751G is frequently recommended as the entry-level benchmark for Mini LED performance, praised for its high brightness and 1000+ local dimming zones. While it is considered a significant upgrade over the QM6K and standard LED models, users are divided on its matte screen finish and have reported specific issues with motion processing and local dimming behavior in certain modes.
Pros
- High peak brightness, reportedly exceeding that of the QM6K and QM7K
- Excellent value for a Mini LED display with over 1000 dimming zones
- Strong recommendation for gaming compared to lower-tier TCL models
- Bluetooth-enabled remote functionality for most navigation
Cons
- Motion handling can struggle during fast-paced scenes, resulting in lost detail
- Local dimming artifacts in 'Movie Mode' where center zones may spike to max brightness
- Lacks WiFi 6 support, which is available on higher-tier models like the QM850G
- Audible humming reported on the 98-inch model during bright scenes
Caveats
- Features a matte screen finish which some users find less 'upscale' than glossy screens
- Firmware updates (such as V217 or beta versions) are often cited as necessary for optimal performance
- The 98-inch variant may be more prone to Dirty Screen Effect (DSE) and power-related noise
Best for
- Budget-conscious buyers looking for their first Mini LED TV
- Gamers who want better contrast than entry-level LED sets
- Bright rooms where high light output is a priority
Avoid if
- You are highly sensitive to motion artifacts or processing lag
- You prefer the deep, 'pop' look of a glossy screen finish
- You require the latest WiFi 6 connectivity

I got 5 year promotional warranty (last year Europe model of QM751G), 15 months is kinda short period.
I had a qm751g with a matte screen before getting a 98qm7k and I love the glossy screen it just seems and looks way more upscale and makes the contrast look better
Hell I went from a TCL S551F (which I think is similar to yours) to a QM751G early this year and realized what I had been missing out on.
The remote for the QM751G should be a Bluetooth remote. The power button uses IR but the Home button will turn on the TV using Bluetooth.
And I think qm751g is actually a better model than qm5k (1000+ zones vs only 300+). Great deal!
If i were you i get a QM751G.. 2024 model, they still findable on clearence and its a better tv than the QM6k
QM751G owner, using the new 2025 remote with the QM7K firmware, and no issues at all.
Strange because it works fine on my QM751G. I just watch Novacaine on my USB Drive
QM751G is brighter than both the QM6K and the QM7K.
Not to worry--I did the upgrade to V217 on my qm751g and the differences are not that major--very incremental. ... The set if really excellent.
