Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Tatcha The Rice Wash is a premium, cream-based cleanser widely appreciated for its soft, grainy texture and gentle physical exfoliation. While it is frequently described as expensive, users note that a pea-sized amount is sufficient for a full wash, giving the product significant longevity. It is generally well-regarded for its lathering ability and effectiveness in removing makeup, though some users find it requires a double cleanse for heavy products.
Pros
- Creamy texture with gentle, non-irritating exfoliating bits.
- Highly concentrated formula; a small amount lasts a long time.
- Lathers well and leaves skin feeling clean without being stripped.
- Effective for removing daily makeup and sunscreen.
Cons
- High price point compared to drugstore or mid-range cleansers.
- May require two applications to fully remove stubborn makeup.
- Exfoliating effect is very mild and may not satisfy those looking for a deep scrub.
Caveats
- Contains fragrance, which may be a concern for those with specific sensitivities.
- Opinions on its exfoliating power are mixed; while marketed for physical exfoliation, some users feel it provides almost none.
Best for
- Users seeking a luxury skincare experience.
- People who prefer very mild, daily physical exfoliation.
- Those looking for a cream-to-foam cleanser that lasts for several months.
Avoid if
- You are sensitive to added fragrances in facial products.

I wouldn't throw it out if I could salvage it.
Tatcha the rice wash- good for removing my makeup, but I haven’t tried any other cleanser I like as much as this one. I love the soft but grainy texture. I do have to use it twice to get makeup off though. 8/10
