Pros

  • If you want to go with Wi-Fi, I am a big fan of Kasa and Tapo. They are both TP-Link and use the same Tapo app.
  • I have tested a lot of smart dimmers and switches, and I'm a big fan of Kasa and Tapo.
  • Tapo is quite hard to beat price performance wise. And if you want to integrate them at some point into Home Assistant or whatever, you are good to go.
  • Both will work. I think eufy has a better app but tapo is quicker to work with and cheaper similar feature sets
  • I actually have and use both and prefer the Tapo. Better image quality on the Tapo, though I am using the C230 and C260. I have the Eufy indoor cam 2K and the 360°. Audio output (listening to the camera) is better on the Eufy but the mic...

Cons

  • It should be possible, however, as far as I know, they use their own proprietary system so you'll be kind of stuck with them And their ecosystem.
  • I have a couple smart lights compatible with Smart Life/Tapo, I've been looking for a simple guide or FAQ somewhere to get a more cohesive system with motion sensors to use in a hallway, and it still seems complicated?
  • We’ve always used smart video doorbells (Google Nest and then Tapo) and want to install one here.
  • When I got my first set of matter devices, I just connected them through the KASA (then TAPO) app.
  • Try not to get Tapo as I believe they cannot work offline like Kasa devices can.

Tapo or Shelly are the only devices I use. I have 24 Tapo sockets and I've had to replace ≈ 2 over a five year lifespan.

Tapo is one choice. It has many chime sound choices. You may find a a different chime sound that does not bother your dog at reduced volume
