Switch 1

Pros

• The switch 1 has a MASSIVE library but is receiving fewer new games going forward. It would also be the cheaper option, you can find used systems for $200 or less.
• if your son has a Switch 1 and/or y’all like collecting physical media, then get the physical.
• If there was a bigger price gao the Switch 1 is still a great device, but doesn't seem worth it for your first entry.
• my Switch 1 finds and can connect to the 5GHz no problem
• if you just play on TV the standard Switch 1 is a better buy. Honestly, I'd go for Switch 1 and if they like it you can always trade in and upgrade later.

Cons

• As someone who exclusively uses a Switch 1 as a Gameboy, I often forget that people use a Switch 1/2 as a console to play on their monitor.
• GameStop told me it was worth $80 store credit because of heat damage. The evidence he used was a slight yellow tint on the left top and bottom of the screen.
• My Switch 1 overheated and shut down when playing a lot of games
• Is it still a good option to buy him a Switch 1 now that the Switch 2 is out? Does it still hold up? ... I don't really want to break the bank on a new Switch 2 but I don't want to buy him a Switch 1 if it's obsolete/no longer relevant n...
• Switch 1 - serviceable but a bit dated. Can play older games, but not the newer ones that are purely for Switch 2.
