Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • I think Spike makes the consistently highest quality stuff. I'd call it professional brewing grade, or pro-sumer. Great welds, smooth extrusions.
  • I have four different kettles; two no name, one Spike, one Blichmann.

Cons

  • Whatever you do, ignore Spike. Got called out for inflating their prices and then faking a sale. Wouldn't respond to comments.
  • Many of the "prosumer" eBIAB systems like Spike, SS Brewtech, and Brau Systems/Unibrau, are unfortunately designed on this critical element. It becomes difficult to get good mash efficiency and to make small batches.
  • Most brew vessels, including kettles, corny keg lids, and Grainfather, SS Brewtech, Spike and Anvil fermentors, are claimed to be made of 304 stainless steel, which is austenetic.
  • Not that it matters, but for 10-gal kettles I have three right now, a Concord Kettle, a Spike v3 that I won, and a Megapot that someone gave me as part of a complete brewing kit I'd like to pass on (locally) for free.
  • I got my email this morning that Spike has 20% off site wide with code... except the code doesn't work. Certainly not for "everything on the site." Plus, they now add a 7.5% "tariff surcharge" to everything... and the kits don't come wit...

right now seems also to be the least expensive by over 20% when compared to Spike and Blichmann.

It's kind of like Mrs. Dash or Spike

Looks exactly like a bunch of other fermenters (thinking first at the brewtaurus line, brewbuilt and maybe spike,..)
