The Buffalo Trace barrels had much more variety in them, and ultimately the group ended up choosing a barrel that was a very easy sipper filled with notes of caramel, honeysuckle, and slightly toasted oak.
This is the perfect bourbon, IMO. Tastes exactly like bourbon.

if you take the Van Winkles and the Wellers, no one touches the variety and quality of that lineup today.
Buffalo Trace is worth visiting, even if no unicorns are grazing- Weller Antique 107 and Special Reserve at MSRP. E.H. Taylor Small Batch was available. We even lucked into some Weller 12 around 3:30 without dealing with the huge morning line.
Understand the critique of the buffalo trace gift shop experience, but very highly recommend the hard hat tour. It was by far the best we did (out of 7) last month
