Makita make good tools ( & unique tools, see cooling jacket & coffee maker) they just don’t get as many discounts & bundles in the USA.
Oh yes Makita is where it’s at. I just wish they had the diversity of attachments as other brands.
It came back to a few brands (Hilti and Makita mainly) and this is where I leaned heavily into. Being able to buy every single part for all my tools (have a shed full of Makita now) is priority.

Most of the time they’re not going to be the most powerful or the flashiest or even great value for money, but the reason Milwaukee vs Dewalt is the big “debate” you usually see online is because the people who bought Makita are busy getting shit done and not having any reason to think twice about their tools.
Makita does these colourful Japan only versions of some tools. I’ve seen reputable sources say they have better components too.
Hilti and Makita are def not overpriced. Maybe for a consumer but for a business they are repairable and serviceable and generally more durable.
