Been using the A7SIII & FX3 since launch and those are my daily drivers.
Well yes it's not the newest camera in the world, but actually still very competitive, especially if you buy a used one. Let's say it also depends on the purpose of the videos, if it is for social/yt/television it's totally a good fit, if it is for cinema purposes, then it still a good fit but not as a FX3.
If you do photography every now and then, in my opinion your best option is A7SIII, which is totally on the video side but still have some more photos option.
I can also het a FX3/a7siii for 80€ renting very cheap
Parent context: Do you have any issues with overheating? Come summer time, my camera is the surface of the sun (with high temp settings enabled). As far as light goes, a lot of my events happen at night outside where the lighting is undesirable Reply: 0 issues and had mine for a couple years, I live in Texas for reference. Fantastic camera.
A7SIII is another option I would recommend! Never overheated for me
I mostly set aperture and shutter speed, for iso I go with auto iso. Works pretty well. (If it's super dark I go with 12800 to around 30k) Sony a7siii)
Bought the a7siii used for a good price. As an alternative :)
I prefer the a7siii because of that.
I use both the fx6 and a7siii.
