Cons
- Somber Echoes, ugh. I got disappointed by endings a lot, so I got a bitter aftertaste after 100% completion. Also, there is not enough endgame content. Over than that, I had just a few infuriating moments.
- On the steam deck I tried to return to somber echoes and I was able to make more progress but later on I just could not deal how fragile the character is and dropped the game once and for all. It just wasn't fun.
- I tried playing Somber Echoes which is is a 2.5D metroidvania not too different from Resetna. It is most notable for having good voice acting and for having a great map, a real rarity nowadays among indie metroidvanias. However, I had to...
- the public reception is thus: "Melee Mobius machine v1.2". Same good stuff, same graphics, same artstyle, same price, same problems. Sales were significantly hurt by terrible marketing/publishing. The reception has been luke warm.
- Finished Somber Echoes. It was good, but I wished the combat-toi-exploration ratio was more skewed in favor of the former, especially considering how finicky some of the more arduous platforming sections felt.

Somber Echoes does an amazing job with its lore and ambience, seamlessly blending science fiction with Greek tragedy and architecture, all wrapped around an action-packed adventure. Wonderful visuals aside, combat and platforming are quite hefty and entertaining, though I will admit there was a bit of clunkiness involved at some points, but nothing too noticeable. What truly stood out to me was how sprawling the map was, which I know was a negative for some players since it could come off as overwhelming, and I get that, though my opinion went in the opposite direction since I loved getting lost across the space vessel Atromitos and couldn’t wait to see what new horrors I would find next.

I tried playing Somber Echoes which is is a 2.5D metroidvania not too different from Resetna. It is most notable for having good voice acting and for having a great map, a real rarity nowadays among indie metroidvanias. However, I had to drop it because I found the parry-obligatory no-dash combat unmanageable with the design of the second boss. ... I can definitely recommend against playing this on the steam deck, it drains the battery like crazy as well.
