Pros

  • The imput lag is definitely fixed but I swear the frame rate feels smoother in handheld. I’m waiting for someone who knows how to check for those things to confirm. I could swear it feels at least 40. And the loading screen images feel 6...

Cons

  • It’s the ps5 / Xbox or PC version of the legendary edition. All assets are upgraded. They didn’t optimize it well though… let’s agree on that.
  • Skyrim needed a real Switch 2 native version and not just a patched Switch 1 version.
  • Man I was really looking forward to this port but now I’m not even surprised about its poor quality.
  • So instead of actually finding and fixing the root cause of the input lag problem, they just turned off v-sync to claw back some milli-seconds and called it a day?
  • Relay this seems like the most malicious compliance way of solving the frame rate issue which is just removing the cap entirely, which is such a dumb idea, especially in the docked mode without VRR.

At least in handheld, the game is definitely still running at 30.

I'm begging them to make it 60, I can't justify buying an ancient game that the devs refuse to optimize.

I won't even touch it. I was ok paying for it if it was good with 60fps. But the input lag issue and 30 fps is a joke.

The big issue here is, of course, the completely unacceptable input latency, and to a lesser degree, the 30 FPS cap. Other than the framerate (which I agree is extremely disappointing; some performance options would be nice there, such as an unlocked cap with VRR, or a 40 FPS cap with no visual downgrades, if possible), on the visual side of things, the NS2 port of Skyrim is a much, much bigger overhaul than the NS2 port of RDR
